As conversations around climate change continue to evolve, so do the conversations about how to best usher in a path to a sustainable future for our world. And recently, conversations around the electrify everything movement have taken center stage.
What is the Electrify Everything Movement?
The concept is simple: there should be a reliance on renewable sources of energy to produce the electricity needed to continue living our everyday lives. In the United States, that means that the country has to figure out a way to produce six times as much low-carbon electricity than the current levels today.
Is mass scale electrification truly possible? The short answer: yes. To effectively transition toward an electric future, cities and countries across the world have largely relied on funding, people power, and intellectual capital. In reality, the movement has already taken off. In the United States, billions of dollars are being used to electrify public transportation systems. Globally, there is a positive trend in the uptake of electric vehicles (EVs).
